“Unafraid”

"Unafraid"

Sharing a poem I wrote a few months ago. If you’re feeling the grips of fear, and who isn’t currently, then I think you’ll enjoy this.

Poem "Unafraid" inspired by the majestic bird--the eagle.

Unafraid

 Unafraid of the darkness
 Eagles perch in wait
 Watching our movements
If we dare

 Swooping in delight
 They carry us afar
 Up, up to
Aquarius night star

We float upon
 Clouds like jelly
 Aspic on our tongues
From melted lies we left behind

Our flight to the horizon
 On breadth of Eagle’s wings
 Lifts our spirits
To unimaginable height

In the inky sky
 Older now
 We learn
 To soar not crawl

 Unafraid of the darkness
All fear subsides
As we fly above obstacles
That no longer block our lives

Ode to Air

Ode to Air

I wrote this little poem as a challenge: Choose one element and write about it. I chose AIR and VERSE.

What element attracts you? Water, fire, earth or air? I tend toward water but Air is my birth sign…so I chose her.

Air is breath of life, our souls. It is the power harnessed to create energy. It is also the ‘mother of thought’ and corresponds to communication and the colors yellow and white.

I’m joining in Sue Vincent’s #writephoto challenge today. It’s all about dreams…

#WritePhoto

Purple and Green

Always in bloom

Her dreams took her

To faraway places

She hadn’t been before

A path that beckoned

Colors to entice her through

Darkest of days

Purple and green

And greys in between

Her dream as vivid as the

Lilac in late spring

She Held Her Head High

I’m sharing a poem with you today. I wonder, can you relate? As much of my life lessons have taught me about valuing material goods over love and health, I don’t believe I’ve expressed it as well as with this verse.

Whoever “she” is has taught me, too.
